Welcome to the Ink Stamp Share Showcase blog hop!

There is no theme today - although you'll find we have all used products from the new Stampin' Up! Annual or Stampin' Up! Mini catalogue.

Today I'm sharing with you a card I created with a sketch from the Global Design Project.

I don't have time to join in usually (I used to a lot in the past) and that's because they launch the challenges on Mondays and I can usually only craft on weekends. I always feel it's pointless entering a day before the challenge closes.

Although when I saw this sketch and all the projects inspired by it, I managed to fit in one hour of crafting on Thursday night when my husband was watching the football!

I loved the stripes in the sketch so I had a think about what colours I was going to use.

I've been die cutting these gorgeous flowers from the Hues of Happiness DSP so naturally I selected flowers in colours that I love as the basis for my card design.

The flowers I've chosen are in the colours Night of NavyFresh Freesia and Pool Party.

This DSP is gorgeous and I love the colours. The Blossoming Happiness dies don't just coordinate with the stamp set, they also fit many of the flowers featured in the DSP.

I decided to create thin stripes (0.5cm) and repeat the colour rotation twice with Night of Navy at the beginning, middle and end for symmetry.

Well, strictly, it's not symmetrical.

I probably should have mirrored the order so it went Night of Navy, Fresh Freesia, Night of Navy, Fresh Freesia and Pool Party for it to be actually symmetrical!

I used the Stylish Shapes dies for the circle and the banner. I adore any dies with a stitching effect - take a look through my blog and you'll see how much I use stitched dies.

The sentiment is from the Through it Together stamp set. I've heat embossed it in gold and added some Brushed Brass Butterflies for my embellishment.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!

Now it's time to check out the blog hop!
