Share It Sunday Blog Hop!

Sunday 31 July 2022 United Kingdom

I am hopping along today with Stampin' demos and papercrafters for the Crafty Collaborations Share it Sunday Blog Hop!

Did you know July is watercolouring month?

I'm sharing the first of 3 cards I've created after experimenting with different watercolouring techniques in the last few weeks.

I must admit I tend to steer cleer of this technqiue as I don't think I'm very skilled at it - if you feel like I do then I'd encourage you to do what I've done - die cut from your water colour background - it creates such wonderful blends of colour!

I'm not going to give any instructions today as my technique is a bit hit and miss. I can tll you that I used watercolour paper and that I picked up ink from my ink pads using water painters. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments section.

The three main colours I've used are Fresh Freesia, Tahitian Tide and Gorgeous Grape.

You can also see a teeny bit of Bermuda Bay (I think) at the start of the die cut word 'Sending' and the sentiment is in Balmy Blue.

The butterflies are die cut from the Brilliant Wings dies

The word 'Sending' is dies cut from the Sending dies

The embossed background has been created with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder.

Behind each butterfly and the word is a Basic White die cut - I wanted each die cut to stand out better against the embossed background.

I've add the gorgeous Opal Rounds to the butterfly bodies. These irridescent embelishments go beautifully with the colours of the butterflies.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
