I am hopping along today with Stampin' demonstrators and papercrafters for the Crafty Collaborations 'Share it Sunday' Blog Hop

I am sharing this opulent card Evening Evergreen and gold thank you card that I created with the Ever Eden Specialty DSP from the Eden Garden suite from Stampin' Up!

I'll be honest with you, I was not at all keen on the stamps and dies within the Eden Garden suite BUT the paper was simply stunning and has stunning gold foil elements so it was impossible to resist.

I'll be sharing a number of projects I've created to show you how you can use your existing stamps and dies with this versatile set - you can even use it for your festive paper crafting.

Let's start with the centrepiece of this card.

I created this beautiful multi layer butterfly by die cutting a butterfly four times from vellum. I've used one of my all time favourites - the Brilliant Wings dies

For the vellum, I've used one of the Evening Evergreen sheet from the 2021 - 2023 In Colour Shimmer Vellum, to match the cardstock base and DSP.

I adhered each layer of Vellum to the next using Tombow glue across the body area. When dry, I used my bone folder to create a curve in the paper to add dimension.

So I could have used Gold Foil sheets to create the centre of my butterfly but I felt like incorporating a bit of Gilded Leafing into my project, even if only a small amount.

To create the Gilded Leafing butterfly body:
  • I added Versamark across the surface onto a piece of scrap cardstock, applying my ink pad directly to the cardstock
  • I then applied Heat and Stick powder to the area, tapping off the excess.
  • Next I used my Heat Tool to activate the powder and make the area adhesive.
  • I then added flakes of Gilded Leafing using a soft paintbrush to apply the delicate foil to the cardstock, gently brushing off any pieces not adhered.
  • I used the same butterfly die on the cardstock with Gilded Leafing
  • I fussy cut around the body, leaving the antennas.

To assemble my card, I added a piece of DSP to my cardstock base, leaving a 0.5cm border all the way around. I die cut a circle using the Layering Circle dies and then used the Tasteful Textures embossing folder to added some texture to it. I added my vellum butterfly to the centre of the circle.

I stamped a sentiment using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set before heat embossing it in gold. I used a die from the Rectangle Stitched dies and added the sentiment to the card using dimensionals.

To finish my card I added a few Gilded Gems to the centre of the butterfly body.

I also couldn't resist adding some Bumble Trinkets too. They are exactly the type of embellishment I hoard so I'm pretty proud of myself for adding three!
