This is the lovely sketch we had to work with, which has been created by our hop organiser Jo Blackman - thanks Jo!

I forgot how much I like to create cards using sketches, it's nice to step away from your 'go to' formats and do something a bit different.

I've used a mixture of retiring and carry over products to create this card. The new catalogue is launching on 4th May and in the run up, I like to share projects I've created my favourite retiring products a few more times.

So today, I've used my favourite retiring patterned paper the Peony Garden DSP. I've actually got one more project to share using this wonderfully subtle floral paper.

I've created this card with a favourite colour combo of mine - grey and gold.

I've been playing / experimenting with the Gilded Leafing recently, one thing I've been doing is applying it to a piece of cardstock and die cutting shapes from it.

This butterfly, from the Brilliant Wings dies looks gorgeous doesn't it? It's really nice to have a bit of texture to the metallic finish.

The horizontal strip is cut from Silver Foil, which is sadly retiring.

I didn't intend to mix silver with gold but it kind of happened and it was too late to change. I think it works though - just.

I used the Free as a Bird stamp set for the sentiment, which I've heat embossed in gold. I used the Nested Labels dies which are also retiring, but will be remaining in my stash.

To finish my card and following the sketch, I added a few Gilded Gems.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!

If you have the time, it would be lovely if you could leave us comments to let us know you've stopped by. Next up we have Kirsty who has created a lovely project for you.
