Twist & Pop Fold Card Tutorial

Thursday 29 April 2021 United Kingdom

I enjoyed creating the Twist & Pop Fold card a few weeks so much that I have created some more but this time I have filmed a tutorial!

It also gave me another excuse to use the Peony Garden DSP for one last time (I promise!)

If you haven't made one of these before I would encourage you to give it a try. It's such a fun fold and perfect for when you need that extra special WOW card.

I created the Petal Pink one for my grandmother (who lives in Holland), it was her birthday was a few days ago.

In my tutorial I will demonstrate how to create this card using the Peony Garden DSP and Prized Peony stamp set - if the design is not 'your cup of tea' you can easily adapt it you suit your style with your favourite stamps and patterned paper.

These cards showcase my favourite monochrome look, I used the DSP pattern as inspiration for the stamping I've added to the central banner.

I've listed below the measurements if you want to follow my tutorial.

Note that there is a combination of inches and centimetres. I explain why in my video, essentially, these are the same as the instructions I received from fellow demo Lin Gostling and I haven't changed them!

Inches
  • Cardstock base - 5 1/2"  x 11", scored on the long side at 5 1/2"
  • Cardstock layer - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" (quantity 3)
  • DSP layer - 5" x 5" (quantity 3)

Centimetres
  • Inside banner - 26cm x 9cm, scored on the long side at 6.5cm, 13cm, 19.5cm
  • Inside mechanism - 20cm x 9cm, scored on the long side at 10cm and scored on the short side at 4.5cm, the remaining scoring is explained in the video and I would recommend both of these two pieces are the same colour cardstock
  • Panels for the banner - 6cm x 8.5cm (quantity 4)
