Welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share Blog Hop!

The theme today is Fun Folds and we have lot's of great projects to share with you

I've shared several version of this fancy fold recently but today I have a video tutorial as well!

I love how by changing the theme and colours you have a completely different card. I can't wait to show you my next one which is my favourite so far!

Whilst I enjoy creating fun fold cards, I don't create them that often as I am short for time and know that I need to follow instructions. This has got to be one of the easiest folds I've created and will certainly be a go to fold for when I want to create a special card for friends and family.

It's a beautiful day in the UK today, the sun is shining and the skies are blue.

Despite the beautiful weather which has returned following what seemed a very long winter, it is an extremely sad time for my husband and I and his sister Helen. We received awful news early yesterday morning that my father-in-law passed away. My blog post today is a tribute to my husbands father Tony Price who was much loved by all the family.

Tony loved his garden and grew many vegetables. Unable to maintain these for the last few years, Phil and his sister have tended to the garden which has the most beautiful views of the countryside. My heart aches for them and our loss.

I have used the Sweet as a Peach stamp set, the Peach dies and the You're a Peach DSP from Stampin' Up! to create today's fancy fold card.

There is nothing better than a coordinating set when creating cards.

The ink I've used is featured in the DSP patterns - Calypso Coral and Pear Pizazz. I've "stamped off" to get a lighter impression.

I've also added Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon and Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I love the surprise with this card as the fancy fold is inside.

It's so simple to put together when you know how so I do hope my video tutorial is useful.

The two versions here are the two featured in my video tutorial. I've used the same DSP but have used alternative sides of the paper.

When using double sided DSP for this type of card, it is important the pattern on the reverse works with the overall design as you do see the reverse, as shown in the picture on the right hand side.

Did you know the Sweet as a Peach stamp set, the Peach dies and the You're a Peach DSP are retiring from the Stampin' Up! catalogue and are only available until stocks last or until 2nd May 2022. If you like this set I would encourage you to place an order before they sell out.

Here are the measurements for this card:

Card base
  • 29.8cm x 10.5cm, score at 14.9cm
  • Score 10.5cm from each end
  • I find it more accurate to fold the card in half and then score 10.5cm from the open end so that it scores through both pieces
Basic White Cardstock (Outside)
  • 10.1cm x 10.1cm - quantity 1
  • 10.1cm x 3.9cm - quantity 1
DSP (Outside)
  • 9.7cm x 9.7cm - quantity 1
  • 9.7cm x 3.5cm - quantity 1
DSP (Inside)
  • 14.6cm x 14.6cm - quantity 1
Here are two methods for scoring (I prefer method 2)

Method 1
  • Score at 7.3cm on two sides
  • Score from one corner to another
  • Burnish all score lines well in both directions

I find it more accurate folding by hand. It also prevents accidentally scoring through the paper too (something I may or may not have done!)

Method 2
  • Fold in half both ways
  • Fold from corner to corner once
Basic White Cardstock Panels (Inside)
  • 6.9cm x 6.9cm - quantity 2
Here's my video tutorial, I hope you enjoy it!

Now, it's been a while since I filmed a tutorial so I'm a bit rusty so it's not perfect and the lighting is poor. I wasn't going to share it but I've changed my mind.

Although it's important to note, I've cut a whole section out where I tried to demonstrate how to resize this card for other card base sizes. It wasn't clear so the video has been heavily edited but don't worry, I've filmed another and I will release this very soon.

The next card is using the Hand-Penned DSP and I am excited to share it with you!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
