Share it Sunday Blog Hop!

Sunday 27 March 2022 United Kingdom

I am hopping along today with Stampin' demos and papercrafters for the Crafty Collaborations Share it Sunday Blog Hop!

This is my second post of today!

Earlier I shared a card I created for my mother for mothers day using the Window Flower Box Dies

Now I am sharing another version of the lovely fancy fold card I've shared many times on my blog in the last month or so and another video tutorial! This time it includes tips on how to resize this card for other card sizes.

I've used the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set, Penned Flowers dies and Hand-Penned DSP from Stampin' Up!

As I've said in my video, I have no idea why I've not used the gorgeous DSP as the colours and style are totally me.

The ink I've used is mostly featured in the DSP patterns with the exception of So Saffron which I've used instead of Daffodil Delight.

I've also used Mint Macaron and Highland Heather. I've "stamped off" to get a lighter impression.

I've also added Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon and Brushed Brass Butterflies.

I love the surprise with this card as the fancy fold is inside.

It's so simple to put together when you know how so I do hope my video tutorial is useful.

When using double sided patterned paper for this type of card, it is important the pattern on the reverse works with the overall design as you do see the reverse, as shown in the picture on the right hand side.

Did you know the Hand-Penned DSP is retiring from the Stampin' Up! catalogue and is only available until stocks last or until 2nd May 2022. If you like this patterned paper I would encourage you to place an order before they sell out. The great news is, the stamp set and dies are carrying over.

Here are the measurements for this card:

Card base
  • 29.8cm x 10.5cm, score at 14.9cm
  • Score 10.5cm from each end
  • I find it more accurate to fold the card in half and then score 10.5cm from the open end so that it scores through both pieces
Basic White Cardstock (Outside)
  • 10.1cm x 10.1cm - quantity 1
  • 10.1cm x 3.9cm - quantity 1
DSP (Outside)
  • 9.7cm x 9.7cm - quantity 1
  • 9.7cm x 3.5cm - quantity 1
DSP (Inside)
  • 14.6cm x 14.6cm - quantity 1
Here are two methods for scoring (I prefer method 2)

Method 1
  • Score at 7.3cm on two sides
  • Score from one corner to another
  • Burnish all score lines well in both directions

I find it more accurate folding by hand. It also prevents accidentally scoring through the paper too (something I may or may not have done!)

Method 2
  • Fold in half both ways
  • Fold from corner to corner once
Basic White Cardstock Panels (Inside)
  • 6.9cm x 6.9cm - quantity 2
Here's my video tutorial, I hope you enjoy it!

I've included a section at the end of my tutorial on how to resize this card for other card sizes. As I've suggested, please experiment with standard paper you use for printing or copying before cutting into your precious cardstock or patterned paper.

I'd love to hear from you if my video tutorial has been helpful!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I hope you enjoyed my project today!
