Stampin' Up! Lovely You

I'm sharing with you today a special handmade card that I created for the lovely Michelle Last as a thank you for holding the amazing Pinkies Retreat 2020 event that took place 'virtually' last weekend for a group of almost 80 demonstrators.

I was absolutely blown away that Michelle asked me to design one of the make and takes, it was such an honour and a real joy to see others inspired by my project. Having personally seen the hard work Michelle was putting in behind the scenes, I contacted all of the demonstrators attending to arrange a beautiful bunch of flowers as a thank you for Michelle. If you live close to Buckingham, I would highly recommend a local florist called The Flower Story. Their work is amazing!

I've heard Michelle mention a few times that one of her favourite new products from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2020 - 2021 is the Lovely You stamp set so I knew I was going to use that in my card. Creating a clear embossed background has been on my ideas board for a few weeks, so this technique paired with the Lovely You stamp set was the perfect choice for this card.

I selected Gray Granite cardstock for the card base and stamped the flower and leaves images all over the front in Versamark ink. I applied clear embossing powder and used my heat tool to create the shiny embossed effect.

It's always tricky capturing this look in photography but I think you can see it at the top of both photos!

I added Vellum, Champagne Foil and dry embossed Gray Granite cardstock to create different textures and layers. I also used the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch to create the banner beneath the Thank You sentiment.

I added die cut elements cut from both Gray Granite and Whisper White cardstock plus several embellishments such as Rhinestones, Elegant Faceted Gems and the twine from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack. I've used my trick again and removed the blue piece from the twine. I then tied a bow with just the white twine and the delicate silver foil. Why don't you take a closer look and you'll see what I mean!

We all received this exciting retreat box from Michelle one week before the event. My will power was really good, I kept mine closed until the morning of the event so I didn't spoil any surprises for myself.

Enclosed were SO MANY goodies - 8 Make & Take kits, Stampin' Up! products, sweeties and swaps! Honestly, I don't think any of us expected to receive this much - what a great start to the weekend!

Also enclosed in the retreat box was a beautifully presented itinerary, jam packed full with a variety of activities. Michelle also included a really lovely quote. So lovely that I decided to frame and display it in my craft room as a keepsake of this special event that was held during coronavirus lockdown!

Now look at this.....

How great is this? Can you spot me?

We all had the choice to take part in this group photo - now I'm really not a big fan of having my picture taken but I just had to take part as I knew this would turn out amazing.

We all decorated our words in our own individual styles - the outcome and message is wonderful. I'm currently looking into getting this printed onto canvas as this is something I never want to forget!
